March 28th, 2023 — — We are excited to announce the release of the Zenlink Development Kit, our newest tool to empower developers to build their own on-chain DEX based on the Zenlink DEX Protocol.

What is the Zenlink Development Kit?

The Zenlink Development Kit (Abbreviations ZDK) is a comprehensive suite of tools and resources designed to make it easier for developers to build applications that integrate with the Zenlink DEX Protocol. With the kit, developers can access a range of APIs and documentation, including code samples, best practices, and technical specifications.

One of the key features of the ZDK is its support for multiple blockchain networks no matter if it is an EVM-compatible network or a Substrate network. This means that developers can build applications that work seamlessly across multiple blockchains. Additionally, the kit includes a range of tools for building smart contracts, including a dedicated contract development environment and a set of pre-built contract templates.

We believe that the ZDK represents a major step forward in our efforts to make it easier for developers to build on the Zenlink DEX Protocol. With its comprehensive suite of tools and resources, we hope that the kit will help to unlock the full potential of the Zenlink ecosystem, and enable developers to create even more innovative and powerful applications.

The ZDK contains a series of components from the back end to the front end, including but not limited to the following:

  • Back-end Services
  • Data Services
  • Aggregator
  • New dApp (Front-end Services)

You can view the detailed list of packages and APIs included in the component on the Zenlink Wiki or Github.

Decentralized Supremacy

The ZDK has taken a significant step towards a more decentralized approach by adopting an open-source approach. This approach ensures that all the code related to fetching chain data, calculation, API, timing services, and interaction contracts (modules) is available for everyone to see and access. By doing so, the ZDK eliminates the risk of centralization, which can lead to vulnerabilities and pose a risk to the security of the platform.

Furthermore, by allowing developers to submit PRs or issues to discuss functions, fix bugs, and address potential risks, the ZDK enables a collaborative and transparent approach to its development process. This approach ensures that the platform is continuously improved, and any issues that may arise are addressed quickly, enhancing the overall user experience.

By leveraging the Vercel platform, the ZDK can deploy code quickly and efficiently, ensuring that updates and improvements to the platform are deployed without delay. This approach also reduces the risk of errors, ensuring that the platform remains secure and stable at all times.

In summary, the ZDK achieves a more decentralized approach by adopting an open-source approach, enabling a collaborative and transparent development process, and leveraging the Vercel platform for efficient deployment of updates and improvements.

Comprehensive Guide to the Benefits of ZDK

The ZDK is a powerful suite of tools and resources designed to make it easier for developers to build applications on top of the Zenlink DEX Protocol. There are several key benefits to using the ZDK that developers should be aware of.

Firstly, the ZDK offers significant time and cost savings by providing encapsulated packages that facilitate the integration of the Zenlink DEX Protocol. Developers no longer need to spend time developing redundant code, as the kit offers pre-built solutions that can be easily integrated into their applications. This not only saves time but also reduces development costs, enabling developers to focus on building the core functionality of their applications.

Secondly, the ZDK makes it easy for developers to obtain swap data using APIs, without requiring an in-depth understanding of the underlying protocol data and path calculation. This significantly simplifies the development process and reduces the learning curve for developers who may not have experience working with blockchain protocols. This feature also enables developers to build applications with a more streamlined user experience, as they can obtain swap data with ease and present it in a user-friendly way.

Finally, the ZDK facilitates the building of custom apps or modules on top of the Zenlink DEX Protocol. This means that developers can leverage the power of the Zenlink DEX Protocol to create innovative and powerful applications that meet the specific needs of their users. With the ability to build custom apps and modules, developers can take advantage of the unique features of the Zenlink DEX Protocol, such as support for multiple blockchains and a range of programming languages, to create truly unique and powerful applications.

With these benefits, the ZDK is an essential tool for any developer who wants to focus on their core business and have the full suite of DEX functions.

ZDK Application Cases

Several exciting projects have already announced their plans to build decentralized exchanges (DEX) based on the Zenlink Development Kit (ZDK). Among these projects are Interlay, Pendulum, and Manta Network.

  • Interlay is building a Bitcoin DeFi Hub where they will leverage the power of the Zenlink DEX Protocol to enable the exchange of assets such as kBTC, iBTC, and their native tokens across the Kintsugi and Interlay networks to extend the power of Bitcoin DeFi.
  • Pendulum is building a traditional financial infrastructure blockchain to connect fiat rails to the decentralized finance ecosystem, and they are building the DEX based on the Zenlink DEX Protocol through ZDK.
  • Manta Network is building a decentralized ZK Layer 1 for on-chain privacy applications, and there will have a privacy-focused swap platform that will leverage the Zenlink DEX Protocol to provide users with a fully anonymous and decentralized trading experience.

These projects represent just a few of the many exciting developments taking place with the power of ZDK, and we look forward to seeing what other projects will emerge in the future.

It is worth noting that the ZDK is fully open source, which means that any individual or collective can use it to build a DEX integrated into the Zenlink DEX Protocol or to fork a DEX, but it is subject to the requirements of the LGPL license and retains the footnote “Powered by Zenlink”.
